Roaring Riptide is about far more than what happens on the competition field.
Through FIRST Robotics Competition, our students work together to solve complex problems under real-world constraints. They learn engineering, fabrication, programming, design, project management, communication, leadership, and teamwork — while experiencing what it means to take an idea from concept to competition.
Those experiences extend beyond our own team. Through outreach, workshops, and service projects, our students use what they learn to make a difference in their community.

In 2019, Roaring Riptide launched #FIRSTwithAT, an initiative designed to engage robotics teams, makers, assistive technology professionals, and community members in creating assistive technology solutions for people in their own communities.
Our students adapt toys, build accessible switches, engineer personalized assistive technology devices, and share designs so that others can recreate these solutions.
Every device we create is provided to its recipient free of charge.

Tax-Deductible Donations
Looking for a Tax-Deductible Giving Option?
Organizations or individuals who want their contribution processed as a tax-deductible donation should contact us before submitting payment, as eligible donations will be coordinated through the University of Florida Foundation and designated to support Roaring Riptide Robotics.
